Pheobe Philo heads to Celine

Newsflash: Phoebe Philo confirmed to design for Celine

After months of speculation, LVMH today confirmed to Women's Wear Daily that Phoebe Philo will be heading to Celine as the label's new Creative Director.

Since British Philo left her post as Creative Director at Chloe 2 years ago the fashion industry has waited with bated breathe to see where she would head next. She quit her high profile position in Paris to spend more time with her family but has been linked to various labels and stores since then including GAP.

Philo was Stella McCartney's number two at Chloe before taking over in 2001, when Stella left to set up her own label with the Gucci group.

Philo will start work in October, with her first ready-to-wear collection previewing with a presentation in March 2009. Expect her signature take on feminine tailoring and many new covetable clothes.
